The goings on of the people of Cranberry

Notes

For goodness sakes

What in the world does Kim Kardashian’s wedding have to do with building schools?  If you intend to criticize things that are beneath building schools in the financial priority list, you better damn well clean your own house first and if you have a $1500 TV you bought when your old TV from college still worked instead of building a school with it, you are a monster of Kardashian-like proportions.  Same with a new iPhone instead of a flip phone, or a steak instead of ramen noodles.

I don’t give half a shit if Kim Kardashian is married, divorced, or whatever.  But apparently a lot of people do. If she spent millions on her wedding, I have to assume that money went to planners, caterers, DJs, servers, limo drivers, florists, dress designers, so on and so forth, who are mostly small business owners who employ lower and middle class workers and so money going to them is A GOOD THING.  If she got paid by media outlets to broadcast and publish photos and write stories about her wedding, they apparently believed it would boost their viewership/readership and those media outlets also employ middle class people who bust their ass to make a living.  THIS IS A GOOD THING.

Finally, if she got paid to get married, I have to believe she will be paying taxes at a high rate, part of which goes to….. building schools.   Rich people squirreling their money away and cheating on taxes and raking in cash while shipping jobs overseas, and many other things people and companies are criticized for, that stuff is often legitimately harmful to American workers and the American economy.  A rich young woman throwing an event that generates millions in income to hundreds of people?  Not seeing it.
