Having pretty severe anxiety over how to balance putting enough weed killer down to eliminate weeds without killing the existing grass.  A complicating factor in this analysis is that soon I will need to plant new grass seed to take care of some patchiness in my front and back yards.  The weed killer will make that difficult because my soil is basically toxic right now.  But you know what else will make it difficult?  WEEDS.  Particularly dandelions.  You need at least two weed killer treatments to eliminate existing dandelions, and to prevent new outcroppings. But if you have ever pulled dandelions, you will know why you need them out of your lawn- their roots are surprisingly deep, and their leaves can kill good grass, sometimes out to a radius of 3 or 4 inches.  Not even kidding. 

Other people in the neighborhood use a lawn service.  Sometimes when their lawn services come to service their lawns, they will leave flyers on my lawn that say “so and so lawn service did NOT service your lawn today. But call us at XXX-XXXX.”  This sends me into a whirlwind of negative emotions including but not limited to rage, despondence, hopelessness, humiliation, and crippling guilt.  So that is where we are today.
