You know, every world religion has belief in dozens if not hundreds of occurrences or phenomena from the past or which they predict or prophesy will occur in the future which are just as ludicrous and worthy of mockery as the rapture.  At least the rapture people had the balls to put an immediately verifiable date on it without relying on platitudes about how if God revealed Himself then that would defeat the purpose of faith.
